Prep steps:

  1. Choose which body style you want, “A” for the phone to lay flat, or “B” for phone to lay on its edge for standby mode.
  2. Pick your filament colors for the car body, car cabin, tires, and rims.
  3. Print the parts.
  4. Assemble the car. See assembly notes below.

Assembly tips:

  • Dab a bit of CA glue on the Wheel Rim cylinders, and then drop them into the Tires. Spray accelerant is helpful.
  • Note: If you want the tires to spin freely, then ignore the step above; don't use CA glue between the rims and the tires. The rims themselves probably do still need to be glued to body for strength (see below), so they would not be rotating, but the tires could spin.
  • The rims have a concave-shaped (“dipped”) side that faces outward. The “flat” side faces inward to the car body.
  • Dab a bit of CA glue on the inside edges of each Wheel Rim, and perhaps the inside wall of each Tire, and then glue each wheel set on the ExotiCar's Body. There is a printed nub on the car body for the rim to “snap” onto. If your printer over-extrudes and you cannot press the rim onto the nub, use a drill bit to ream out the hole in the rim.
  • Note: Again, if you want the tires to spin freely, then only put the CA glue on the inside of the rims, not the tires.
  • Drop the printed “ExotiCar Cabin” into the slot on top of the “ExotiCar Body.” If the fit is loose (which depends on your printer's calibration and extrusion accuracy), you could dab a drop or two of CA glue on the bottom of the cabin first.
  • Drop your Belkin Boost Up 10W charger (or similarly shaped other charger) in, with the USB charge cable existing out the back of the car body.
  • Power cable notes:
    • On ExotiCar “A” the power cable can lay in a tray slot atop the back. However, if you desire to have the charger's LED light in view, you can route the power cable off the side of the car.
    • On ExotiCar “B” the power cable can be routed through a tunnel designed into the cabin and the body. Insert the cord and pass it out the back. The charger's LED is visible on the upper edge of the charger, near the front.
  • Place your phone on the charger, and you should be done!
