This project serves as a proof of concept for micro-adjusting the Z-axis rod on my Ender 3 Pro. I’m now printing at 300 mm/s with 8,000 mm/s² acceleration—no Z-banding issues. While the micro-adjustment is somewhat overkill, it works and dramatically improves print quality. It’s a straightforward, budget-friendly upgrade with a notable impact. Although I’m exploring a redesign, nothing I've tested has been as successful as this setup, so this version stands for now.

Materials Needed:

  • Threaded inserts
  • M3/M4 nuts
  • Flanged pillow block bearing
  • M3 screw and washer (for adjustable positioning)

Setup Steps:

  1. Install all components, starting with the threaded inserts and nuts.
  2. Use the M3 screw and washer to fine-tune the bearing’s position. This gives you some flexibility to align everything precisely.
  3. Adjust screws until the Z rod is square and centered.
  4. Manually move the X gantry up and down to confirm smooth travel.
  5. Finally, tighten the flanged bearing in place as the last step.

I’ll aim to provide a full step-by-step guide, but for now, these steps should get you set up.
