Update June 2025: 100 degrees Fahrenheit today, and the spring snap of the current version is no longer providing retention with the clip when printed in PETG.

Update July 2025: ABS printed clip is holding up to 100 degree temp so far.

Replaces the failure-prone sun visor clip on 2016 - 2019 Chevrolet Volts (Part #23438716, #22924162, #22909443). Fits both driver or passenger side. Uses a much more robust connection than the stock clip.

I printed in PETG, while the factory part was molded in PC-ABS. The extra thickness should compensate for the lower heat resistance. Winter is coming, so I won't get any really hot days to confirm it doesn't lose tension until next year. PLA is not recommended.

Longevity Update 1/13/2025: Two winter months complete, holding strong. Coldest was about 20 degrees Fahrenheit.

For closest to factory finish, I found a .12mm layer height w/.4mm nozzle worked well when using fuzzy skin set at .12mm distance and .12mm spacing. There are 3MF files for both PrusaSlicer and OrcaSlicer that include fuzzy skin settings and fuzzy-skin blocker modifiers for best results.

Print as oriented. Do not use supports.

For removal of the old part, there is a metal clip behind the headliner that holds the clip tightly against the headliner for extra support. It's very hard to see without dropping the headliner some, and will hold the old clip very well. If somebody knows an easy way to remove it without just muscling out the old clip, then fishing the metal retainer out, please leave instructions in the comments.
