Wood screws: 3.5x12 mm (or #6 x 1/2” for USA)
8x2 mm silicone stoppers (IKEA part no. 107091 or equivalent from a furniture store)
Sharpie or other fine-tip marker
Screwdriver PZ2
Steps:
Prepare the Glass:
Purchase a custom cut glass sheet with dimensions 460mm x 200mm x 3mm (18.11" x 7.87" x 0.12"). Be sure the edges and corners are cut for safety and aesthetics.
Note: Avoid using acrylic or plexiglass, as these materials may bend or look uneven over time.
Position the Screwing Points:
Chose marker-sheet:
One Third of height - 70mm
Half of height - 105mm
Place the marker-sheet on the surface where the glass will be installed.
Use a Sharpie to mark the 4 points for screwing the adapters, aligning the marker-sheet carefully to ensure even positioning.
Install the Adapters:
Align each adapter with a marked point.
Secure each adapter by screwing it into place using the 3.5x12 mm wood screws (or #6 x 1/2” wood screws if you are in the USA).
Tighten each screw to ensure a stable foundation, but avoid over-tightening to prevent cracking or damaging the mounting surface.
Attach Silicone Stoppers:
Place an 8x2 mm silicone stopper on top of each adapter. This will help cushion the glass and hold it in place securely.
Ensure all stoppers are well positioned on the adapters for even support.
Mount the Glass:
Carefully place the glass sheet onto the adapters, making sure it rests evenly on the silicone stoppers.
Gently press down to ensure the glass is secure, with the stoppers preventing direct contact with the adapters for added protection.
