E3D LGX Groove Mount Adapter

E3D Groove Mount for the LGX Extruder, fits the V6 and other heat sink combinations, all heat block lengths.

When the Bondtech LGX extruder came out, it was obvious that Bondtech cut a licensing agreement with SliceEngineering and left E3D out in the cold. So when we wanted to use our old favorite E3D devices with the LGX, no adapters were created, leaving us, the community out in the cold as well. Now there is a groove mount available for the LGX lite, but it is barely a solution as it is more of a bolt-on bandaid. It was created for the SliceEngineering copperhead, not the V6. 

The community has come up with a couple nice adapters, such as Bnackus's LGX to V6 model. I thank him for that. But we felt that there should be a better solution. So we started from the ground up to build a new solution. 

We needed a solid, engineered exact adapter to the LGX. We reached out to Bondtech and they gave us all of the exact measurements to make the correct adapter. We also needed accessory attachments, probe mount, cooling fans, etc. Klemco has a nice solution for this. If you are ever in the market for a Klemco machined groove mount, we hope that you purchase the unit from them and not a knockoff. The quality is better anyway.

We reinvented/designed the Klemco Bl-touch mount to slide on the LGX adapter, using the same groove width, but with a changed base angle and extended length. The mount will fit on either side of the adapter. Other Klemco accessories such as inductive probe and cooling fans should also fit. These can be obtained from Klemco, I will place a link below. Fan adapters were created for the adapter, a link for these will also be below. 

We also reached out to E3D and obtained permission to place their “E3D” logo on the adapter. One of our engineers was employed by E3D, so we made that happen. We have an agreement that the adapter is free to download and 3D print, and the adapter will never be sold. We will leave the adapter open to remix, however, the “E3D” logo must be removed on the remixed adapter.
