Handstand Trainer for Gymnastics
My daughter does acro gymnastics, where training and strength are key – especially handstands. To practice handstands, you need handstand trainers, which you can buy for about 160 euros here in Denmark. I thought, "Why not try making one myself?" So, I opened Fusion 360 and got to work. I'm really satisfied with the result, and my daughter loves them! For a personal touch, I added her name to one of the legs in PrusaSlicer and filled it with gold paint.
I printed the parts in PETG, and they’re incredibly durable. I’ve tested each one individually with my weight (around 110 kg), and they held up without issue.
The trainers are assembled using 6mm socket head cap screws:
All parts are designed with an exact fit – no tolerances included. So, a precise 3D printer is essential, but the end result is extremely stable. I've minimized the need for support structures as much as possible, though some are needed for the center post and handle.
Note: The Fusion 360 file is also included to allow for easy adjustments. The model was created using parameters/variables, making it simple to modify dimensions to suit different needs. Additionally, it was designed using a non-commercial license in Fusion 360, so please respect the non-commercial nature of this model.
