Small stand for a soldering iron with a container for a sponge or brass wool for cleaning the iron's tip.

You will also need:

  • a length of approx 150mm uncoated steel wire with a diameter of 1.5mm. Please note that it needs to be uncoated, otherwise the hot soldering iron will burn the coating and will probably get damaged. Brass or other metals will probably work alright, but as they have better heat conductivity, I would recommend using steel.
  • either some brass wool or a sponge cut to shape

Build Instructions:

  • Print the Part, I used Prusament PETG in 0.15mm STRUCTURAL settings with 15% infill on a MK4S
  • Bend the steel wire to an M-Shape and insert it into the two holes in the top. This is where you can rest your soldering iron later on
  • Put some brass wool or a sponge into the large recess. You can use the brass wool or the sponge to clean your soldering iron tip. MAKE SURE TO SOAK THE SPONGE WITH WATER BEFORE TOUCHING IT WITH THE HOT SOLDERING IRON, OTHERWISE YOU WILL DEFINITELY DAMAGE YOUR SOLDERING TIP. Also make sure not to touch any of the printed plastic parts with the soldering iron.
