I designed this adapter ring to allow me to mount my Godox MF12 macro flashguns to my Canon MP-E 65mm macro lens. This lens has no filter thread, so there is no out-of-the-box way of attaching the thread-mounted MF12 mounting ring to the lens.

Godox made the mounting ring universal via adapter rings, so I created this ring to bridge the gap. You do not need to modify or damage the Godox ring or the lens.

Mount the adapter ring to the lens first, and then clip the Godox mount ring to the adapter.

The little retention tab should ideally point downwards for maximum security.

I printed this in PETG at 0.2mm layer height, with supports on the overhangs to ensure a clean finish, as the lens attaches here.

The PETG ring seems stable, robust and easy to attach and detach, but any structurally sound material would probably work well.

I would not recommend using weak materials like Silk PLA, or anything else with poor layer adhesion, as your expensive equipment will be hanging from the end of it!

If you want to remix this, eg. for another flash system, please get in touch, and I'd be happy to share the OnShape project with you.
