I found the boxes that come with the filament to be very useful to organize my workshop. I have a box for AC electrical, a box for DC electrical. Arduino, Acrylic painting, Silicon tooling, Epoxy tooling, sewing, etc.
I like the boxes because printing a box is expensive in filament because it takes a lot of grams of filament and time consuming. After one box I am ready to think about plan B.
This is plan B. The filament boxes are very useful but the flaps will get stuck inside with the stuff I put into the box. I try to force it and as a result I tear the box. Try shaking the box to move the items and get the flap down. Good ! now it is closed. But I have to do that every time :-(
This print solve the problem :-). It will give the box some needed support and will make sure the space where the flaps come down stay clear. And it weighs just 100g. I may optimize a bit more to bring down the grams. It takes 3 hours to print on an MK4.
Print with black PLA for the cheapest possible price. You can use Elegoo on Amazon
or Tagled Filament from Slant 3d if you want to support an eventual $10 a spool made in the USA PLA filament suplier.
You will need some supports for the front tab. I am working on that.
