I was looking for a solution for mounting stuff to my new Petzl Vertex Vent helmet, in particular it was the battery pack of my headlamp. So i found KIL0's design, which seemed quite sturdy, i printed it and was very satisfied. Unfortunately he did not provide the CAD files, so I redraw the interface surface to his adaptor brackets and extruded an even surface for a velcro strap, because my battery already had a velcro strap.

You need the following hardware

  • 4x M3 nuts
  • 4x M3x12 counter sunk hex screws

Instructions

  • Print both adapters and the body
  • Insert nuts into the body
  • Screw brackets to body

Tipps for your own design

  • The brackets take up approx. 5mm of the screws' length
  • An ordinary M3 nut is 2.4mm thick
  • You can use my reverse engineered drawing by importing the DXF file or use my Fusion project as a base for your design.

Model origin

The author remixed this model.

Differences of the remix compared to the original

The original model was a mount for a specific headlamp, i reverse engineered the shape of the base plate and modelled a simple baseplate, which accepts KIL0's brackets.
