I didn't use the Thomann kit as a base but stripped down an old Squire Strat and therefore had to do some adjustments, especially on the core part. This remix is for makers who
- don't use the Thomann kit and want to do the electronics, wiring etc. themselves
- have a spare (Squire) Stratocaster neck lying around
- want to use a FilterTron as the neck pickup
- prefer to use heat-set inserts to attach the bridge to the core
- want to attach the strings on the back side of the body/core.
For print settings please follow the instructions for the original model. The only aesthetic change I did was slice the “blue_piece” witout top layers. Together with the remixed pickguard the gyroid infill (or whatever infill you prefer) is exposed.
Hardware I used and for which this remix is definitely compatible:
- Göldo TL-Bridge HW48C
- DiMarzio DP381BK (bridge pickup)
- Gretsch FilterTron HS Neck NI (neck pickup)
- Gretsch Pickup Screws Set
- Harley Benton Parts SC-Style Jack Plate CH
- Gotoh TLB-1 String Ferrules Chrome
- Göldo Control Plate TL-Type Space

Differences of the remix compared to the original
Black Core
- Increased the pocket for the neck pickup to make way for a Gretsch FilterTron
- Modified the pocket for the neck to accomodate a (Squire) Stratocaster Neck
- Increased the hole size for the bridge plate to be able to use heat-set inserts
- Added counterbore through holes for string ferrules (strings attached on the back side as on a classic Tele)
Black Knob Holder
- Increased the size of the main pocket for electronics to accomodate custom parts
- Increased the size of the horizontal holes connecting to other parts to accomodate heat-set inserts
Pickguard
- Added a cutout for aesthetic reasons to make the gyroid infill visible on the underlying part (underlying part “blue_piece” was sliced without top layers)
