Car Vent Gravity Phone Holder v4

Originally the remix of the ingenious Car Vent Gravity Phone Holder by Abdel Darwish that in the version V3 I remodeled from the scratch, keeping the original idea and general outline.

Main changes in V4 (2025-07-26)

• Changed parts:
  • Arm
  • Sled
  • Clip
  • Clip Knob
• Sled: Thicker pins that hold the arms (reported breaking in some cases)
• Arms: Bigger hole for the pins.
• Clip: 
  • The clip profile changed to prevent its jaws from deforming when using for a long time in a hot car
  • The tip is remodeled for better grip
• Clip: Remodeled to accept a screw for plastic (diameter 2.8-2.5mm, length 6-10mm)
• Clip Knob: Added a hole for the screw
• NOTE:  The screw holding the clip to the clip knob is optional, but highly recommended.

Main changes in V3

• Remodeled body for tighter tolerances (in previous versions sometimes the front and the back plate would detach)
• Clip remodeled for better grip and easier removal from the fins when needed
• Tighter Clip + Clip Knob for click-fit
• Sled remodeled for a phone to sit better
• Arms remodeled for faster print

Main changes in V2

• The clip can rotate to adjust to various vent fins
• Openings in the body to allow air to pass and cool the phone
• UPDATED 2022-09-01: a “hooked” clip with a stronger grip to the ventilation fins and a longer “long” clip, also with a stronger grip. Try and see which one suits you best.

Longer arms to allow access to volume buttons for Huawei, Samsung and iPhone Press the Clip Knob to the Clip - it should snugly fit. It is highly recommended to fix the two with a screw for plastic, diameter 2.8-2.5mm, length 6-10 mm. 

Alternatively, fix the two with a tiny drop of superglue. There is no need for the glue if you use a screw.

Do not glue the clip to the body. It must be allowed to rotate.
