Hi! I made this minimal case for the Waterfowl split keyboard, designed by Cyanduck. This case fixes a few things about the uncased boards:

  • Provides consistent support between the bottom plate and the PCB, especially in the corner by the microcontroller.
  • A dedicated component provides support to the OLEDs, which were previously cantilevered by their pins.
  • The OLED cover part also provides consistent spacing between the PCB and the top plate.
  • Maintains as much of the original aesthetics as possible while adding protection to the PCB.
  • Uses all the original assembly hardware.

The travel case is a work in progress, and is intended to be closed with either rubber bands or a velcro strap. Inside the case, there are two areas where short TRRS or USB cables can be kept. The travel case is super simple because I was worried that moving parts would be fragile.

Assembly should be pretty straightforward, and the PCB cover is designed to fasten to the PCB with two extra fasteners that came with my kit.

All components will require supports. I printed the case models in Polymaker Matte Army Blue PLA on a SOVOL SV06.
