simple and loud :)
I must glue the drumsticks to the base. After several changes of the "sound" the axis broke but machine still works.

@matej Thanks. If you ever need the Fusion or Step file let me Know.

A very simple description is that the proof of concept works (sorta).Everything with the exception of the base was printed with .4 nozzle, .2lh,20% infill. The base was printed t .3lh, 25% infill with 4 perimeters for strength of the tone-holes. Suggestions for v 2.0... The hammer 'fingers' have no way of remaining stable while inserted into the slot fitting for them. They tend to wobble along the rail they are inserted to. Maybe a tighter tolerance would help with this or maybe a spacer in between each finger to keep them from moving along the slide rail. You will also need to print 2 of the 'drumaxle' part (not mentioned), one each side to mount the big geared 'drum', The 'crank' that mounts to the 'smallgear' doesn't have a retaining clip to keep it in place so it tends to fall right off the smallgear when trying to crank it to make notes reach the fingers. When I was able to hold it together well enough to make a few actual strokes on the tone holes of the base, the sound was actually better than I thought it would sound so the possibilities are endless if you want to modify the toneholes for different sounds. Maybe something like printing the base with variable layer height, and/or variable infill changes Just thinking out loud. Summary,...a very interesting item with much potential but more importantly, it was blast to print, build and test it. Thanks for your work and uploading it.

Wow,you did it! So cool.
I will work on your suggestion for sure. Big Thanks
Cheers

I may be mistaken, but I think a file (part) was left out. I can't seem to find the small gear that should used with the crank handle to turn the larger drum gear. Thankfully I have only printed out the notes and fingers so far and didn't start the project printing the base first :-p. If I am mistaken...my apologies.

You are right, Sorry. I've uploaded the missing part. I would start with the small parts first. Some adjusts might be needed to get a 100% functional Gadget. In case you need something change, send me some pictures and the problem and we can work it out. Remember, this is a proof of concept, I am sure it will work, but like other projects it needs some love and attention.
Cheers (edited)

Cisco Thanks for this. It is printing now along with the base. Pics and comments forthcoming. Thanks again.
