If you have one of these clocks and the battery compartment cover has broken or been lost, just print this replacement. It's a tiny model, costs 1p to print and takes 3 minutes, but if the original part is gone then your battery won't make good contact or will even fall out.

It's an ancient clock! I love it because for its size, it has huge numbers on the display. Also it's transparent, which is lovely against a plain white wall. The markings on it say “1990 Tron Int'l Corp, NYC, USA” so that gives you an idea how long I've cherished this thing :o)  The battery cover broke many years ago and I hand-made a replacement out of layers of light-cured resin and then carefully trimmed it to fit. Then today my replacement broke, but now i have a 3D printer it took just moments to knock up a design in Fusion and 3 mins to print it. Fits perfectly! If yours comes out slightly loose against the battery then just add a tiny blob of Blutack or a little snippet of insulating tape etc to the back to increase the pressure on the battery which is LR44 / AG13.

I used all standard settings, 0.4mm nozzle, 0.2mm layers, 15% infill, 3 walls and 6 tops/bottoms, no support or adhesion.

Yes I could have printed it in Black but I had yellow in the printer and couldn't be bothered to change it! It faces the wall so it can't be seen, and it's less likely to get lost at battery changing time if it's dayglo.
