Doug Joseph (design8studio) has a great explanation of the spool modifications and readjustments he made.
This spool holder fits perfectly the remix of the flashforge ad5m enclosure Riser-D, check out My riser and santa(lemuroff) designs for the enclosure files.
The spool is placed lower and a cutout in riser D is made
I have added an extra groove for the wires of the filament sensor, as its installation is rotated for better use.
PrintTip:
you can strengthen pins by adding a negative cutout modifier, it will make them harder to snap off. because the pin will have continuous core layers below.
“ready to print in orca slicer.3mf” file have it configured for you
After print:
Update: 22/04/2025
I have added a guide arm for when you are using new full spools that have a tendency to wind out of the spool and tangle.
This arm has the same slot as the roller part, so you just slide it above and snap the filament into the clip*After some use, I still have the filament to fall off the roll, but it happens less frequently, it's an upgrade, but a better solution is required
The author remixed this model.
Combined 2 designs.
I took the modifications of Doug Joseph (design8studio) to the base part of the spool holder and added them to the base part of the spool holder of santa(lemuroff)
also modified santa(lemuroff) extension part to be simpler to print
rest of santa(lemuroff) parts left unchanged (roller and roller guide)
