This modification was born from the need for better motherboard cooling due to the swap to 0.9deg Stepper Motors. Using these motors at a high acceleration causes the stepper drivers on the motherboard to overheat and shutdown momentarily causing layer shifts in the prints.

CAUTION - This is irreversible. Please take care in cutting your printer base.

The available STL file is used both as a template for marking your cut and a spacer to set your fan on so that only cool and fresh air enters the printer chassis. The chamfered side of the spacer faces away from the fan

OPTIONAL:

A 60mm fan guard is used to cover the hole. This is simply Hot Glued into place. I recommend pre-warming the areas of the steel where the hot glue will make contact. This can be done with a torch. It only need to be WARM TO THE TOUCH.
