Summary
SMARS, which stands for “Screwless/Screwed Modular Assemblable Robotic System,” is a straightforward robot designed specifically for educational purposes. Its key features include a minimal number of components, the ability to assemble without screws or soldering, and the absence of glue or similar adhesives. Plus, it's incredibly cost-effective to build!
One of SMARS's standout aspects is its modular design. You can easily attach various sensors and tools and even create your own custom parts. In the future, I plan to add new modules and downloadable content (DLC) to enhance the model on my Cults 3D page. It would be fantastic if you could share your modifications as well!

To build the basic model (using “chassis-SL.stl”), you only need a few extra components. You can find a complete kit here: SMARS V1 Kit or purchase the following parts individually:
Amazon Link: Amazon Components
For the screwed version (“chassis-S Mk2”): Link, you will need two 25mm M4 screws and two self-locking nuts.
TIPS: The joints of the tracks are simply pieces of 1.75mm filament cut to the appropriate length. To assemble the screwless version, you will need a multi slip-joint gripping plier to insert the “slave wheels.”
One of the upcoming DLCs will feature the Quadpod mod. If you're interested in transitioning from tracks to legs, use the screwed version “chassis-S Mk2” (Link), as “chassis-SL” will not be compatible!
Building instructions are available in the "doc lite" folder.
