I was intrigued by the Brother P-Touch Cube because of the portability, light weight, easy connectivity and intuitive use. Because of that, I use it in a lot of places and it gets carried around A LOT. To keep it safe during all this transportation, I design this case that does not compromise its use while keeping this amazing gadget safe.
While in the case, the printer can still be turned on/off, charged. The cartridge viewing window, the connection QR code, the printer serial number and all signal lights are still visible and of course the labels come out as normal as well. The only compromise is the need to open the case to change the cartridges.
Besides the Print you also need:
- a Brother P-Touch Cube Model PT-P710BT (Otherwise - Why print this?)
- 6 screws 3x25mm
I recommend printing it in PETG or ABS. I think it would look really good in fun colors since the printer only comes in the standard black and white.
The print takes about 4-6h depending on material and printer type used. The model works perfectly using a layer height of 0.2+ and it turns out the best if you use tree supports and the orientation shown in the screenshot of a print plate.
Remember to print the latch twice :) and you really don't need the seal, I jut added it because I want to appreciate the work of the original designer Whity.
The author remixed this model.
I changed the size and radius of the corners (as intended by the designer) and added some cutouts to turn the box into a case for a P-Touch Cube label printer. The functionality is not compromised, while the printer is safe from drops or other things my clumsy self could do to it by accident.
