The planets in realistic proportions are accommodated by a no soooo large model by the sun. Place the models in the garden or clue it to a rope. The proportional distances to the sun will be:
1. Mercury:    6 cm
2. Venus:       10 cm
3. Earth:        15 cm
4. Mars:         24 cm
5. Jupiter:      70 cm
6. Saturn:      140 cm (!)
7. Uranus:      280 cm (!!)
8. Neptune:   450 cm (!!!)

There is no planet Pluto because it is classified as a dwarf planet and doesn't belong to the big boys anymore :(
