“Are you the best this world has to offer?”
“Probably not, but I do the best I can.”
I grew up watching Dr. Who in the 70's and 80's and Jon Pertwee was my Doctor. He was always mucking about with the soldiers from UNIT (United Nations Intelligence Taskforce), who were led by Brigadier General Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart, commonly referred to as “The Brigadier”. Since I have my own 3D printers and the poor chaps in UNIT never got a 12 inch figure, I decided to make my favorite staff officer in that scale. After all, the uniform is simple to find for Palitoy's Action Man, so all I needed was the ability to make and sculpt a head.
I did this bit of fan art with the help of several programs like TinkerCad and Chitubox, but the majority of the heavy lifting was done by FaceGen 3D Print (a light weight version is integrated into Anycubic Studio).
I printed this with Resione's F39, tinted with orange alcohol ink (3 drops per 20 ml of resin, but your mileage WILL vary!) to get the color to match the vintage G.I. Joe figure's plastic. Because of this, the supported version uses some very heavy duty supports.
I included the unsupported version for anyone who wants to try with a different material, but the neck is reinforced on the expectation that a flexible resin will be used and the model has not been hollowed or vented!
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
