Description

This device aligns two pieces of wood at a specified angle as a helping hand and alignment tool. I am using these to test dry-fit of my plywood cabinetry using biscuit joints. These make it a breeze to work with one joint at a time without worrying about all the other panels falling apart at the slightest bump. This tool gives you a bit more time to get a clamp onto the joint. I assume these will be very useful during glue-up as well, ensuring a crisp alignment at the corners.

This tool can only be used where two open edges are accessible.

Editing this model in Fusion 360 (using .f3d file) allows for parametric modifications using the Modify → Change Parameters option.

Be sure to allow some tolerance for the material thickness and print the thinnest and smallest test piece first to check it fits over your material perfectly.

Material Thickness Test:
Set desired Material_thickness (including tolerance allowance)
Minimise A_length & B_length (15mm each)
Set Joint_angle (90 deg)
Minimise Jig_base_height (5mm)
Minimise Jig_channel_depth (5mm)

Please leave a comment if there is any specific angle, thickness or overall dimension you require and I can upload it.
