PC Front Panel Desk Extender/Bracket

This is a simple model I made for myself but I thought it would be good to share!

Simply put, this is a bracket/plate to hold a Ø16mm momentary switch and 2 No. USB ports. I used this as I mount my PC under my desk, out of reach so it makes it a struggle to plug in devices into the front panel or push the power button.

This allows the user to relocate or duplicate the front panel USB and power to another location.

Mounts with M3 countersunk wood screws - I have allowed for 4 No. holes but I simply used the two outer ones and that is plenty!

 

See below for bill of materials of the buttons/cables I used for this:

  1. 16mm Momentary push button
  2. Panel mount USB 2.0 Ports (you can use USB 3.0 as well but I only had a 2.0 header spare!)
  3. Motherboard power switch splitters (dupont)
  4. 4-off M3x8 button head screws (to hold the panelmount USB ports in)
