Gridfinity Pencil and Marker Holders

The model seems to come with the underlying grid as well. is that on purpose?

I don't understand how this works with Gridfinity. What am I missing?

Nice simple tray. A bit confusing the the tray and the grid are part of the same STL. I guess maybe it's possible to print them together, but who wants a grid that exactly matches just one tray.
