Double Pendulum - The Mechanism of Chaos

A fun, dynamic and thought provoking physics demonstration to visualize chaos and unpredictability. Even today, it is still not possible to calculate and predict movement of the two pendulums. Model is fun to play with since it demonstrates an interesting physical absolute.

Model is made to be as simple to assemble as possible, only from 7 printed parts and 2 bearings. Assembly is using 10x10x10 square press joints without tolerances.

Bearing dimensions are: H:7mm, D1:22, D2:8. You can use for example standard bearings for skateboard wheels.

Printed on Prusa MK3 from PLA, 0.2mm SPEED preset. Whole model can fit in one print.
