What are these?

I love collecting Pokemon cards and really wanted to show off the art of the commons I love but get tucked away in a binder or a box. I wanted to put them on my fridge and other metal surfaces so I made a frame you can take the art from the card and put in.

This was my first 3D design and have been working on and off on it for a while but figured I would throw the files up if anyone wanted to make a nicer version or make their own.

Materials

  • Pokemon Card (bootleg, fake cards, damaged cards and commons are good picks)
  • 1 6x2 Magnet     Amazon Link
  • 1 Clear Plastic Sheet ***This is optional but makes them look really nice    Amazon Link

Tools

  • Hobby Knife
  • Scissors or Card Cutter (I use this to make it easier but scissors work fine)

3D Printed Parts

  • 1 Frame top
  • 1 Frame bottom
  • 1 Card Template
  • 1 Card Holder (Optional but I find it easier to hold the card, I included the one I found but cannot find the original source link)

Printing Notes

These typically do fine with .4 nozzles but the energy logos look a lot better with .2. There are a 3 versions of the frame (Normal, Mid and Long) to accommodate for the evolution cards as they have have a small extension at the top left where the basics don't. They just need to be printed face down, no brim needed and I print on standard speed on my Bambu with no issues. The STEP files allow you to change the energy symbol and frame colors to whatever you want.

Assembly Steps are in the PDF

I also have a few misc things I use for these including a stand and display rack.
