Description

PDF

This watering can consists of two parts: A hexagonal patterned outer part, and an inner part that fits snugly inside. The dual color model can be printed with a single extruder. However, there is a twist: As the outer part encloses the inset to lock it in place, the inset has to be printed using a flexible material. This allows squeezing it inside:

Step 1:
preparation
Step 2:
Fold and squeeze the flexible inset into the outer part
Once fully inserted, the outer part encloses the flexible inset and locks it in place.

Printing instructions

Outer part ("hexagonal patterned skeleton"):
  • use PLA/PETG or similar
  • I recommend organic supports
  • a printfile sliced at 0.3mm layer height is included
Flexible inset:
  • use a Flex material; I used yellow Extrudr Medium TPU (98A)
  • no supports required
  • 0.3mm layer height
