Desktop case for Waveshare 7" HDMI display

This is my first attempt at designing a case for my Waveshare IPS display. It comes with a dock/stand.

I previously hung this display on my Skadis, but had to take it down. This model is designed so that the display can be used as a touchscreen on a desk. The display case and dock are separate, and you can easily print your own dock for different angles.

There's an unintentional cable management feature too. I realized that I could feed my HDMI (90deg) and USB cables through the hole in the dock. Might not work with your cables.

Wishlist:

  • expose the push buttons with labels
  • add a snap fit mechanism for the frame to reduce floppiness
  • can add tons of chamfers to give a thinner appearance

Use 4 M3x18-20 screws to connect the front panel, display, and back case sandwich together.
Using a lighter color for the face plate and dark for back, you can create an illusion of the case being thinner than it is in reality. I've tried my best to make the bezel as centered to the actual viewing area as possible, but slight variations may skew it a bit. The screws however aren't symmetrical.
