Hi,

for some time now I wanted to play around with these cool passthrough designs but I didn't know how it was done. I found a good video about it (here) some days ago and tried it out. This passthrough heart it the result.

Filament used:
Overture Silk Copper PLA & FormFutura PearlGold Easyfil ePLA

my print settings:
- 0,4 nozzle @ 0,25 mm layer height
- 2 walls
- 5 % gyroid infill
- supports: yes, on build plate only
- print orientation: as in pictures
- place seams on sharpest corner or "alinged" in prusaslicer
- XY Size Compensation: -0,2 mm
- print time: 2h41min & 2h56min on prusa MK4 with a custom stealth profile at around 100mm/s

notes:
- after importing the *.STL into the slicer >> split model to objects to get both parts
- with importing the 3mf file the slicer software should ask if you want to split the model
- the parts are designed without any tolerances in Fusion (like in the tutorial video), so before printing you have to add a clearance of -0,2 in the slicer software (Prusaslicer - Print Settings - Advanced - XY Size Compensation), I applied the clearance once within the 3mf print file and then printed both parts seperate out of the same file
- clean both parts thoroughly after print from blubs, little bumps and stringing to make the parts pass through smoothly

Happy printing!

Model origin

The author remixed this model.

Differences of the remix compared to the original

Used the heart as the base shape of this model. Scaled it in Fusion360 a bit and then designed the spiral and the cutting myself.
