USB C magsafe/Qi 2 charger module case

Simple case for generic aliexpress wireless charger module with USB C featuring magnetic ring for use with Magsafe/Qi 2 compatible devices.

Module: Search aliexpress for “usb c wireless charger module” and look for one with circular coil and PCB (see the photo). They are usually rated for 20 W. Price around 4 EUR.

Magnetic ring: Search aliexpress for “Magnetic Ring Sticker Magsafe Wireless Charger” (or something similar). You want one with visible magnets (not just metal ring) and thickness 0.6 mm. They usually have black or white plastic on the other side and are placed on blue removable plastic sheet. Price around 2 EUR/piece.

Assembly:

• stick the charger coil directly onto the back side of the PCB
• tuck the wires around the edge
• put the PCB into the top part (PCB side visible)
• snap in bottom part
• optionally use 4 mm M3 bolt (or similar) to secure both parts
• stick the magnetic ring into the groove in the top part using adhesive on the ring. Optionally use additional glue.
