ASUSTOR AS5304T Vibration Dampening Feet

These are vibration dampening feet for the ASUSTOR AS5304T NAS, that are printed in two parts using flexible filament.

While the AS5304T NAS from ASUSTOR is a relatively quiet NAS when it comes to fan noise, I have noticed that it causes some vibration (at least in the shelf I am using). For some time I put a piece of fabric below it to dampen the noise caused by the vibrations, but I figured I might as well make some proper vibration dampening feet that look a it more professional.

I am also including the source FreeCAD files if you want to tweak the dimensions or modify anything yourself.


Installation

Print 4 pieces of holder.stl and 4 pieces of foot.stl. Then, insert each foot part into a holder part, and finally press the assembled holder/foot combo onto the already existing feet of the NAS, without any further modifications.

 

Print Settings

Below are the print settings used for holder.stl and the foot.stl parts.

NOTE: This part is meant to snap on with a little bit of force onto the existing feet of the NAS, without any modification. This will of course be dependent on your printer's accuracy and your filament, so you might need to tweak these things a bit.

  • Printer: Original Prusa MINI+
  • Filament: Prusament PETG Matte Black
  • Print Settings: 0.20mm SPEED
  • Infill: 15%
  • Perimeters (Vertical Shells): 2

NOTE: Ensure that the perimeter is completely filled with shells, and not using any infill. You can do this by setting the perimeters to 4 shells. If you use the default value of 2, there will be infill generated in the foot part. This part is then meant to snap into the first holder.stl part with a little bit of force, which should not be too much of a problem since it is actually flexible.
