I was in the hospital for a month and in a wheelchair for 3 months a bit ago and I grew to love overbed tables, but hated how I would be screwed if my remotes fell off because I couldn't get up. This is a design for lazy cripples such as myself, where it holds everything you need right at your bedside so you can find it easily and never worry about them falling on the floor ever again.

This is a V2 of my remote+steam controller organizer for my overbed table. Tbh, this is really V7 of it, but I've only uploaded two final designs.

A list of changes I made are:

  • Custom arms designed by me instead of borrowing them from another design
  • Closed slots to hold the arms securely
  • A bottom plate to hold the arms in place
  • Threaded thumb screws to hold said plate in place
  • It's a lot more rounded and looks aesthetically better Although it looks complicated at first, this is a very simple design with a lot of thought put into it. Keep in mind, this is more of an inspiration design for you to draw or edit your own. Each of the three compartments in this remote holder are custom fitted to my remotes and are not of equal size. I've included the Fusion 360 file so you can edit it to your remotes if you so wish.

If you are a fellow cripple, but aren't able to use Fusion 360 and would like me to edit this to your remotes, please leave a comment.

Update 2/2/21, Added better arms that are shorter so the controller won't fall

How I Designed This

I drew this on paper, printed it, and then experimented about 10+ times with different arms+screws until I got what I wanted
