If you have an old ATX power supply at home, you can easily make a portable lab power supply with these few parts.

These are the parts you need for assembly:
- the printed parts, in the colour you like
- glue the graphic elements and letters to the front panel
- some screws to fix the power supply
- two voltage/current meters, 
     Ebay: DC 10/50/100A 100V LED Voltmeter Ammeter Voltage Meter Current Meter
- a voltage regulator of your choice, with the appropriate potentiometer. I use a step up/down regulator, so I able to adjust the voltage between 3 and 30 Volts.
- for mounting the handle: 2 pcs  M4 nuts and 2 pcs M4-12 screws
- Female 4mm Banana Plugs: 6 black to the common potential and 6 colored to voltages
- if you want a USB charger, you can solder some USB A sockets on protoboard and mount it inside the front panel.

I use the power supply's own switch to turn it on (for this, the green PS_ON wire has to be permanently connected to one of the black GND wires).
