I have printed Paul Arden‘s Apple Watch Dock in wood filament a while ago (see make).
Using the Woodgrain GCode post processor I altered the printing temperature for every layer. I liked this so much, I thought, I’d push it one step further and gave the print a slight sanding (240 grit) and 2 layers of oil. It turned out even nicer. While I was at it I modified the STL file to accommodate the additional mm the clone charging cables that I have received have had (8mm vs. 7mm of the original one). The clone cable now sits flush with the stand.
I have printed the dock on the picture with Laywoo-D3 through a 0.6mm nozzle on a somewhat modified UM2+. The only setting I changed in the plugin was the minimum temperature; I upped the default 190 to 200 to make sure the filament would always flow nicely.
The author remixed this model.
cavity for charging puck is 1mm deeper to accommodate sufficient space for the clone charging cables
