I finally got around to putting new vinyl siding on my garage and could not bring myself to make holes in it with screws so I whipped these up so i could re-hang my garage decorations. They have a surprisingly good grip & are super-simple to install and remove with no damage to the vinyl siding. I'm using them to hang fairly heavy terracotta/cement decorations with no issue.
Three different styles:
- Lightweight – Preset to a somewhat standard stud size to be used with lightweight key slot decorations
- Midweight – With a hook for items that hang on a wire/string
- Heavyweight – With a preset 3mm hole for you to use a metal screw of your choice to get the exact head size/ depth you need for a slot or other applications. Drill it larger if need so you don't split it. It's better for hanging heavier items that might exceed the sheer strength of the second or third style clips
Printing:
- Print with four perimeters (or just print solid) to ensure the upper hooking mechanism is strong/ with no infill
- I recommend PETG for its better resistance to heat
- If you don't have good adhesion, since they are small items you might want to print them with a brim
