These brackets allow for:
- 9x 2.5" SATA/SAS SSDs to be installed in a Supermicro short-depth SC series chassis. Built on a SC505-203B, probably works with others.
- 40mm Fan at the rear
- Alt model to allow for easier PCIe card installation/removal. Does cost half a bay, fine if you're using a slim SSD etc.
Understandably it's a tight fight, so installation order is key. I found the easiest way to be:
- Mount pins to all middle rack drives, and the sides on the drives facing the middle bracket.
- Screw drives in to front and rear brackets.
- Align all the drives in the brackets, ensuring all the mounting pins fit in the holes.
- Transfer the racks into the chassis.
- Swear, because one of the drives probably fell out of a mount. Fix.
- Screw down in to chassis.
- Cable management, connect all cables.
- If using the alt bracket for front, install PCIe card and riser.
