I designed an adapter to use a longer and more flexible cable for the CR-Scan Otter.
This model is specific for this 3m long angled cable I found Amazon in Germany: Cabletex USB-C Cable. While I found two models on amazon.com that look identical, unfortunately they are currently unavailable. Payholy USB-C Cable and VeeR USB-C Cable. If you find an alternative, let me know and I will add it to the description.
However, I provided the step-files so you can modify the model to match different cables as well. Just keep in mind, that the angled part needs to stick out quite a bit, which disqualifies the majority of cables I found. I made sure the cable is at least USB 3.0 and rated for a high current (3A) to make sure to have a stable connection and not lose any performance due to the increased length. TPE and TPU cables are more flexible than the standard PVC cable, which I prefer for this usecase.
Other than the angled cable you need a M2x25 cylinder head screw (shortened to ~23mm), four M2.5x5 countersunk screws and some 3D printed parts.
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
