I wanted to mount my joystick and throttle stick hanging upside down under a shelf to save some desk space, and I have found a nice way to achieve it using 3D printing, few screws and a bit of glue.
All my tests went far better than expected (regarding lifting power, clearance and freedom of movement) and the final product looks nice too, so I decided to share it to perhaps inspire others.
I ended up gluing the insert onto the joystick with 15min epoxy. Also I added a bit higher anti-slip legs to the corner of the devices, so that they don't rock from side to side when placed on the table.
Printer brand: Prusa
Printer: i3 MK2S
Rafts: No
Supports: No
Resolution: 0.2mm
Infill: 20%
I used PLA in both testing and final product.
I used Fusion 360. If you want to create similar project, don't forget to add clearances. If you will end up using this rail in the same orientation as I, you can add quite a bit of clearance, because the hanging thing would re-center itself by its own weight.
