This modification of the Gameboy Advance SP battery cover incorporates a Type-C TP4056 charger module, allowing for enhanced functionality. Inspired by Makho's original design (available here), this mod offers a sleek solution for charging your GBA SP with a standard 5V Type-C phone charger, while also leaving space for thicker 1S LiPo batteries as well.

The TP4056 board is friction-mounted, eliminating the need for screws or glue.Additionally the tilted back adds a touch of style while also providing a gimmicky yet functional stand for the device when not in use.

Cutouts in the cover allow for the LED indicators on the charging PCB to remain visible, indicating the charging status (red LED for charging, blue LED for fully charged).

To replicate this mod, you'll need the following components:

  • TP4056 Lithium Battery Charger Type-C board: Link
  • 3.7V 500mAh lithium polymer Rechargeable Battery: Link

Note: The battery output leads of the PCB are soldered directly to the GBA's original battery connection leads.
