I just bought a new Grizzly G0899 table saw which I love except for one thing. The rip fence distance indicator uses a magnifying bubble with a line that is a good 1/4 inch (6mm) away from the scale attached to the fence support bar. It is very difficult to line up the indicator accurately with a measurement without having parallax error. Notice that the last photo shows the original indicator and has a shadow in the photo which would be where the line falls on the tape which is off by a good 1/8" (3mm). This thing solves the parallax problem by placing the indicator line very close to the measurement tape. This thing will fit the G1023 and G0899 line of Grizzly table saws.
I printed my indicator using ABS but PETG should also work. I didn't use PLA because it is more brittle but it should also work. The window is made from a piece of 0.092" Acrylic (2.5mm) with dimensions of 25mm x 25mm. I made the reticle by breaking the tip off a pointed Xacto knife and using a square. I scored the line with the Xacto knife upside down; dragging it multiple times to create a narrow channel. The line should face down towards the table saw when installed in the guide. I taped off the scored channel and filled it with black paint. The window should be glued into place. Be aware that Acrylic clouds when exposed to Super Glue so use something else.
