Description

PDF

The .470 Nitro Express is a rifle cartridge developed by Joseph Lang for dangerous game hunting in Africa and India.

These files allow you to print an exact replica of this cartridge or brass case.

Both the files can also be used to print some disposable snap caps for your precious break action guns chambered 470 NE.

After the british government banned .45 caliber sporting cartridges in order to prevent colonial insurgency back in the days of Commonwealth, a huge gap in the double rifle line-up from low .40 caliber rounds to .500 Nitro Express had then to be filled. While a plethora of manufacturers promoted their own .465-476 wildcat proprietary cartridges, Joe Lang's .470 was made freely available to all the other rifle makers.

It was just matter of time before it became the new standard cordite powered designed cartridge, and still is the most popular of all the Nitro Express safari cartridges survived to our days.

Notes:

I haven't had the opportunity to print one yet due to accumulated backlog… but I think I'll be down to testing the files soon because I need some snap caps for a gun.

How I Designed This

Onshape

I modeled these 3D files after Norma factory load using Onshape. If I made no mistake (sorry, had to rush to finish design process ASAP) these should be actual specs.
