A simple separation kit for my FT-891. Since I don't have a permanent QTH, I use the radio mostly in the field, and I needed something to avoid pulling all my gear out of my backpack :D

In addition to the printed parts you need:

  • 2 Keystone RJ45 sockets
  • 2 Keystone RJ12 sockets
  • Threaded inserts M2.5 and appropriate screws
  • 2 additional short patchcords (RJ45 and RJ12)
  • 14-wire cable and matching  M12 cable glands
  • 1/4" nut (for mounting on mini stand) - there is a place for it inside the part which holds the radio panel.
  • M5 screw for mounting panel

Assembly is trivial:

  • install threaded inserts
  • pull the cable through the cable glands and holes in the enclosures
  • connect the Keystone sockets accordingly
  • close the housings

Before connecting the radio, test the connections using, for example, an Ethernet cable tester!

I printed my copy from PLA, which I then sanded and painted.
