As I am switching to sidemount diving (from twin backmounted doubles), I now have the old problem of cylinders sliding around in the trunk of the car. I want to protect the cylinders, and my car, and I wanted something that would stabilise the tanks without sliding itself.
I designed these stabilisers around a bunch of cord I had laying around. The idea is that the weight of the cylinders will push the cord down, which tightens the stabilizers against the cylinders. There are many contact points between the stabilizers, the cord, and the cylinders so it creates a lot of friction and they stay put.
The diameter of my cylinders is 175mm, and the cord I had was 5.4mm, but I've uploaded the source files which are parametric so you can customise it for your own needs.
I've attached the STEP and F3D files so others can make their own, custom
The attached bgcode uses 4 perimeters and 25% cubic infill.
