Orion 4.5 StarBlast Telescope Lens Cap Replacement

Ludington Public Library has introduced a “non-traditional lending library,” which consists of multiple non-book items available for library patrons to check out. This includes items like novelty cake pans, podcasting kits, space binoculars, and telescopes.

Unfortunately, sometimes un-tethered pieces get lost, and this model is a redesigned replacement cap for the Orion 4.5 StarBlast Telescope.

The shared model is the unbranded, blank STL that fits snugly into the space end of the telescope to protect it during travel. This design has two anchor points designed into the pull tabs on either side that will hopefully reduce loss.

For some reason, this cannot be found anywhere at a reasonable price, so parametric design and 3D Printing to the rescue.
