Introduction

Has it ever happened to you that your jeans got into the bike chain when cycling? This can leave nasty oil stains and - in the worst case - rip your expensive jeans.

Fortunately, this is very easy to prevent with a clip. This one is probably the best 3D printable model out there:

  • accessible: printed in one piece in PLA, no assembly, no supports, no brim required.
  • optimized for flexibility: The piece is flexible enough that it should fit anyone. If it doesn't then you can just adjust the scale parameter in Prusa Slicer.
  • comfortable: the form of the clip follows the natural shape of the leg, and it doesn't have any sharp edges.
  • secure: can be attached to an elastic to make sure that it will never fall off
  • quick: it took me just 20 minutes to print on my Prusa Mini
  • durable: the width of the clip is modulated such that the parts on which the highest tension is acting upon are reinforced. If treated well, this clip should be able to last you quite a while.

Printing instructions:

  • download the STL file
  • open it in Prusa Slicer
  • print with PLA, and 20% infill, no brim
  • look for an elastic ribbon to attach to the clip (see the last image). Small ones work best, but larger ones also work if you wind them around twice.
  • enjoy :)
