I designed a small silent tower for a Raspberry Pi NAS that can hold up to 4x 2.5-inch HDDs and offers enough space for cable management inside. This is version 1, everything fits together nicely, but I’m still not happy with the position of the Pi.

Parts:

  • Tower frame
  • HDD cage
  • Wall
  • IO wall
  • Riser
  • Ventilation grille

I printed this version in 0.24mm Draft mode and it turned out great.

The tower is equipped with a 140mm fan, which is connected to the GPIO pins at 5V. Due to its size and low RPM, it generates enough airflow for the hard drives, whose cage is ventilated from below.

The tower can be positioned upright using a riser or laid flat. The underside or back provides the option to route a network cable inside, while the other Pi connections are accessible from the side.

The cage is mounted to the base with four screws.
