safety cap for weight rack (SCAD)

The metal rack for holding exercise dumbbells was dangerous to use. You had to be careful to not catch your fingers between the dumbbell and the square metal tubes. Additionally, the rubber coating on the dumbbells was getting damaged by the edge of the square metal tubes.

The solution is to insert safety caps into the square metal tubes. Please see the before and after pictures. The length of the insert is long enough to hold the safety caps securely in place.

The OpenSCAD source file is included so you can modify the design to meet your needs. This model works for square metal tubes with an inside width of 46 mm.

I used PLA with layer height of 0.3mm and printed on the side with supports.
