Description

PDF

A proxy model for a light clan mech. Model on the photo was printed using Prusa MK4 with 0.25 nozzle, PrintWithSmile Rec-PLA (Just Grey) and with 0.07 mm layer height.

Painted in Draconis Combine (Sword of Light, 8th Regiment, 1st Batallion, 7th Heavy Reconnaissance Lance) colors using Vallejo Game Colors.

The model is positionable and various stances can be created during the assembly.

Printing Guide

I have created the model with FDM printing in mind (as I do not have adequate safe space for a resin printer), thus the model is composed of several parts that are printed separately and then assembled and glued together. As the model is in 6 mm scale, parts are tiny and precise nozzle (~0.2 mm) is required.

General Settings

  • Material: Any quality grey PLA tested and recomended
  • Nozzle: 0.2/0.25 tested and required
  • Layer Height: 0.07 or smaller tested and required
  • Supports: not required
  • Brim: selected bunny ears or overall brim recommended (see attached projects for PrusaSlicer)
  • Infill: 10 % honeycomb tested and recommended
  • Speed: As with any other minis, slower is better even with modern IS capable printer

Assembly Guide

(1) Glue an EXH to the back of a COCKPIT.
(2) Attach an ANT to the top of the COCKPIT.

(4) Glue prepared machine guns to the sides of the COCKPIT.
(5) Attach a HIPS to the bottom of the COCKPIT to finish the main body.
(6) Glue a MLASER to LSMOUNT to create a medium laser.
(7) Attach the prepared medium laser to the cockpit to finish all armaments.

(8) Prepare the legs. Glue a LOWER-LEG to a UPPER-LEG-L and a UPPER-LEG-R. Glue a FEET to each LOWER-LEG.

Beware: This is the time to consider the overall position of the model on the BASE and rotate/position the legs accordingly.

(9) Attach the legs to the COCKPIT.
(10) (OPTIONAL) Attach the lance number to finish the model.
(11) (OPTIONAL) Glue the model to a base.
(12) (OPTIONAL) Attach a mech name to the base.

Painting Guide

  • Start with a primer (airbrush or spray). Typically with white, grey or black color. The presented model was primed with white spray.
  • Cover the whole model with a base coat of primary color. Be cautious to properlly thin the color. Several layers may be required. The presented model was coated with Scarlet Red (two layers).
  • Add primary accents in several layers of thinned colors. The presented model is using Bloody Red and Wolf Grey asi primary accents.
  • Add depth using darker wash, like Sepia Wash in the presented model.
  • Add depth with edge highlights with lighter colors. The presented model was highlighted by mixing Bloody Red with Golden Yellow.
  • Tight the colors together with a color ink. Red Ink was used with the presented model.
