For my closed 19" Server / Network-rack I was looking for an top fan mount as an exhaust for my homelab gear. While there are of the shelf solutions available, I was interested to see if I could create a top fan mount-model for housing 4x 120mm exhaust fans. The model could be improved further - for example the fan grill (hexagon pattern) still needs some work - but for now my goal has been achieved.
Designed for
Alfaco / Alfa line server/network-rack.
Note: I use the 22U version
Note: It seems that my particular rack is also sold by different companies and/or brands. Therefore, it is very difficult to give an exact model number, so please see this image for reference [external link]. But to make it a bit easier I've listed the dimensions below. That way you can check if it fits your own rack. No guaranties, but you might be lucky! ;)
Top hole dimensions (please also see the attached photo for a visual impression)
STL versions
I've attached different versions of the model. To keep it simple, attached are:
Mounting
Depends if you can print the model in once piece, the model can be attached to each other with some simple M3x12 bolts and nuts. If you end up with four prints, same idea applies.
Fans
The top fan mount is designed to fit regular 120 mm fans.
Print settings
MK4, 0.20mm Speed, 0.4 nozzle, Infill 15%, Support None
On the photos the model is printed with Prusament PLA Prusa Galaxy Black.
I did also a test print with PETG v0, 0.20mm Speed, 0.4 nozzle, Infill 30% and 6h+ drying, came out nicely.
TLDR
Top fan mount for four 120 mm fans, particular designed for the larger (22U+?) Alfaco server/network-racks. Might fit you rack that has the same dimensions/exterior/branding. Might be helpful for someone else, if it fits - one never knows.
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
