This is a vertical organizer, consisting of modular Segments.
Six Segments can be connected to form a Hexagonal Organizer.
Each Segment provides space for a Container for relatively small pieces like M3-M5 screws and nuts, electronic components, small model parts, decoration elements (like beads), etc.
There are several Segment variants with different connection types and 4 Container modifications (see “Components & Files” in HEX_ORGANIZER.pdf).
This Organizer is relatively easy to print, it was designed to be potentially printed in-place as a single model (including all 6 Segments with their Containers). However, you can also print Segments and Containers separately and assemble everything after.
Additionally, provided .step file gives the great potential for customization: add texts and logos, edit features, tune clearances, change size and more! Enjoy!
See HEX_ORGANIZER.pdf presentation file for detailed info, instructions, models description, features and print advices!
In short:
You can either print whole Organizer in-place (use files HexOrganizerFull.stl or Hex6Segments.stl), or in parts of 1, 2 or 3 connected Segments (use files HexSegmentScrews.stl, Hex2SegmentsScrews.stl or Hex3SegmentsScrews.stl).
Segments also can be printed together with the Containers in-place (see “_Containers” files). Segments need *no supports and Containers only need supports for the bottom dent.
To connect separately printed Segments, you gonna need two M3x20mm screws and two M3 nuts for each connection. However, it will also work with shorter screws (down to 10mm).
There is a standard Container (HexContainerStandard.stl), extended “chunky” modification (HexContainerExtended.stl), modification with extra capacity, but smaller opening (HexContainerCapacious.stl) and modification with crop top, to put pieces inside without opening the Container (HexContainerCrop.stl). There are also all possible combinations of these modifications. Containers can be inserted into and removed from the Segments with some force.
To open the Container, you need to lift it up a bit and then rotate. Its contents should slide towards the opening.
You can use only 3 Segments with a special Back Wall (Bonus → HexBackWall.stl in Hex.zip) to form a half-Hex Organizer. It can be attached to a wall.
And additionally you can use HexSideConnector.stl model to arrange Segments in a straight line (see details in HEX_ORGANIZER.pdf).
